Clinic Policies.

  • Cancellations / No Shows

    At Insight, our schedule fills quickly.  Please schedule in advance and try to avoid cancellations. Patients with frequent cancellations will be discharged from our practice as we are looking to work with highly motivated patients who are able to keep appointment times.

    There is a 48 hour cancellation notice or the full fee of the appointment is charged. This fee is not covered by insurance and cannot be submitted for insurance reimbursement.

    You will be notified 72 hours in advance of your appointment via text and email to give enough time to cancel without being charged. A cancellation fee will not be charged if we are able to reschedule your appointment within the same week.

  • Lateness

    We believe that therapeutic work requires your commitment to, and presence for, the full session time of your appointment. Our session lengths are carefully chosen to reflect what can realistically be accomplished in a given session.

    Should you arrive more than 10 minutes late for any appointment without informing us, you may be asked to reschedule so that an appropriate amount of time and attention may be devoted to your care. You will still be responsible for payment of the missed session. This fee is not covered by insurance and cannot be submitted for insurance reimbursement.

  • After-Hours & Emergencies

    Our hours are Monday - Friday from 7am - 7pm. It is not within our scope of practice to provide emergency-level services. In the event of an emergency, please call 911 and go to the nearest emergency room. You, or the emergency room physician, may call me once you are in a safe place to further coordinate care.

    That being said, we check our emails and messages regularly, so if there is a non-emergent need (ie, a refill, patient question or request, etc), feel free to contact us and we will answer as soon as we can.

  • Billing / Payments

    Payment at our practice is accepted via debit or credit-card. We require you to have an active card on file with us to schedule an appointment. Appointments are billed the day of your appointment; you will be provided with an invoice/superbill immediately on payment.

    Fees will be subject to small fee increases each year to match inflation. This information will be provided to you well in advance of the fee increase.

  • Administrative Needs

    Long phone calls to insurance companies, other therapists or doctors, and the completion of paperwork such as a written evaluation or prior-authorizations are billed at the same rate as an in-person visit, as we build this time into our work day.

    Smaller tasks, such as medication refills, quick questions, etc. are not subject to additional fees. Please contact us directly for refills of medication instead of asking the pharmacy to reach out.  We will get back to you very quickly about your refills.

  • Remaining in Care

    To be considered an active patient, we ask that patients are seen every month to continue under our care.  Patients not seen in the office for at least three months will be considered inactive and it will be assumed that treatment has been terminated or sought elsewhere.

We suggest that confidential information should not be provided to Insight MD through this website as we cannot guarantee its security. No such communication via phone call, email or other outreach shall contractually obligate Insight MD to treat you, regardless of the content.
